EV's day out with parents

EV had a lovely birthday when she got to have one of her favourite breakfast's of toast with avocado. She worked on some art and then got a chance to go out to lunch with both parents without her sisters. She unsurprisingly chose dumplings for her birthday lunch.

Stegosaurus cake and googly cup cakes

EV requested a dinosaur cake and KT found a good stegosaurus cake recipe to make it happen. They worked on it together for EV's birthday. They also decorated cup cakes with googly eyes so that EV had something to share with her classmates the following day. They had a good time with their projects and they both turned out well. EV was certainly chuffed with the end result.

Watermelon ice cream hats

The girls got to have some watermelon ice cream which came in little plastic containers shaped like, you guessed it, watermelons. They liked the ice cream and thought the containers were great, particularly wearing the tops on their heads.

Kids about town

Here are a couple of photographs of the kids doing their thing. EV made a cat girl mask while SV was pretending to be a wood fairy with branches for antennas. She also got to spend some quality time with Setsuna.

SV's triumphant return

After two nights away SV came back. She had a great time and had lots to tell us about. She made some new friends and really enjoyed herself. We were all happy to see each other though.

MV's book week costume

MV really wanted to dress up as Ada Twist scientist. Partially because she really likes how empowered Ada is in all of her books and partly because she is enjoying science including the scientific method.

Seeing SV off to camp

After a delay it was finally time for SV to head to Canberra for a school camp. It was the first time that she would be on her own and was understandably a bit nervous. We got up pretty early and walked her up to make sure she was as ready as possible. She was excited to see her friends and to hang out for several days without parents. Everything went smoothly and we were in fact more sad than she was. The excitement and energy of the morning swept her up and off she went.
