All over Leichhardt

Since her surgery MV has been eating and sleeping much better. That is a major relief for us as we just weren't sure about it. We had lots of things to do all around town and MV happily slept through most of it. SV was glad to be able to run around in the park with Grandma, especially after a number of rainy days finally cleared up. SV also ended got a chance to do some shoes shopping which included some great new books for her to read.

MV surgery

After we had MV home for a few days KT noticed that her upper lip and tongue had some extra skin which prevented them from fully moving. These are known as an upper lip tie and a tongue tie. This prevented MV from sucking properly which led to her sucking more air in leading to more wind and discomfort.

To rectify this we took her in for an examination and eventually a surgery to cut the ties and restore movement to her lip and tongue. We made sure that the procedure was going to be helpful before consenting to it. MV was very good and after the 30 second surgery she calmed down very quickly. We now have to do exercises with her for two or three weeks to ensure the lip and tongue ties don't reform. It was a tough day but Bruce Lee gave us courage and MV was ok the rest of the day.

Working with playdoh

After school SV came home and played with her playdoh. She asked to play with it the night before to safeguard the time before we had dinner. MV dozed on the couch and occasionally opened her eyes to see what was happening. After dinner and an outfit change (possibly her 6th of the day) she went back into a good sleep.

On the couch

The couch has become a favourite hang out place for all the ladies. Here are some of the moments from the couch.

Heli flying and beyond

TV had another helicopter flying lesson and everyone went out to the airport before lunch. We than had a great Vietnamese lunch which was delicious. SV was excited to make her own rice paper wraps. In the evening everyone was tired so after an abbreviated wash the short people slept quite well.

Luna Park again

We went to Luna Park again now that MV is a little bit older. She even got to go on a ride with us on the carousel. SV is getting more bold on the rides now. She was eve n happy to dance with some of the characters, but her favourite activity was most definitely the big slippery dip. She didn't mind who she went down with as long as she got to go again.
