Across the road from our hotel was a colony of pelicans that begged for scraps from the fishermen that cleaned their fish there. We took advantage of this to lure them over so we could say hi. SV got to see them pretty close up, although not too close since they were still bigger than she is. Walking across the street she squirelled away some chocolates in her pockets and was very self satisfied when she dug around in her pockets. Eventually we walked to the shops to get some take away for dinner and SV got to run around on a patch of grass there. In fact that was quite possibly her favourite activity of the entire holiday.

Shipwreck beach
We went to visit a beach which had an old shipwreck on it just to see what we could see. At this point it is pretty well rusted out but it was still interesting to see. SV got to see what happens and she saw some of the shellfish slinging to the side. Afterwards SV got her sillies out by running up and down the beach before settling down to build a sandcastle. Once finished and photographed it was her turn to be Godzilla Baby and destroy it. Destruction is hungry work so a snack soon followed.

"Mexican" dinner
By now we should realise that the Mexican food is generally not that good here in Australia, but we tried a place anyway. It started out fine with the chips and guacamole being pretty good if a bit bland. SV had a little make your own taco/burrito plate which had very bland ingredients and the chicken was just boiled chicken with zero spices. TV got a burrito which sounded different, hey how bad can it be, right?! Well if you ever see a burrito with slivered almonds, sour cream, green tomatilo sauce and chicken, stay away! It was the worst burrito we have ever had, seriously, TV couldn't even finish it which says a lot. KT was the only one that ended up getting something that was ok with her enchiladas. We still had fun looking at the kooky "Mexican" decorations.

Nocturnal park adventure
There are a number of ways to get a park all to yourself for example when it's rainy or cold or after dark, or as in this case all three. We had a blast though with SV climbing all over the place and coming down the long slippery-dip. Even TV had a go with SV following close behind.

King Beach
After a run of good weather a storm passed over. We dressed SV in some of her warmer clothes but then when we actually got to the beach we added another layer. Once she was all bundled up we had fun running around on the empty beach. SV had fun watching the sand getting blown around by the wind.

Tennis court and beyond
We took advantage of the nice mornings to let SV run around a bit and sometimes she chose to go to the tennis court rather than the pool. She played a modified version of volleyball with TV before running through the leaves. She really enjoyed both those activities on a number of days. She finally got the hang of climbing up the slide by herself just before getting the courage to go down the slide on her tummy. After the excitement she retired to the business centre to take care of her work.

Resort pool
The resort had a heated pool, little kiddie pool and a hot tub which we took advantage a couple of times. SV got to wear her new sun hat which she enjoyed along with her beach ball which she kept pretending was a camel for an unknown reason.
