Saturday morning music videos

Just like her mom, SV enjoys watching music videos. She also likes to dance to them when the beat is good. Apparently this video was not that good because she preferred just to gangsta lean back on the couch.

Picnic with Thomas

Both SV and Thomas were really keen to go to the park for a play, and since it was a nice day we took their lunches and made it into a picnic. It let them make a bit more of a mess since it wouldn't end up on the carpet. Here are some of the photographs from the picnic.

Baby Thomas visit

Baby Thomas is one of SV's favourite playmates. They actually seem to enjoy playing together and have gotten to know each other quite well since SV has gone to his house a number of times as Caroline took care of her. In these photographs the two of them have morning tea before they play together. It interesting to watch them interact as they both have different strengths and they sometimes work together to reach a mutually beneficial solution.

Buddy ghost and the Vietnamese pajamas

SV's new favourite toy is her buddy ghost. She likes his wide open arms which she hugs. It's really interesting how excited she is when she sees it.

V8 Supercar race: Part 3

This was the last race of the season and as we were leaving the venue all of the merchandise was on sale. So we decided to get SV a little race suit to commemorate her first race experience. Here are a couple of photographs done quickly of her running around in it at home before she went to bed.

We put SV on this teeter totter and she enjoyed herself so much that despite the heat she didn't want to get off.

V8 Supercar race: Part 2

While waiting for the race to begin SV made a friend along the side of the track. The boy was being a little bit bad because he was playing with some wires on the ground. He got in trouble, so instead of grabbing the wires himself he tried to get SV to pick them up instead. She wasn't having any of it though. He even resorted to getting down and begging her to help him out, but she still said no. She's a tough little cookie.

V8 Supercar race: Part 1

Here is the first entry of another three part series. This time we found ourselves at Sydney Olympic Park where the last Telstra 500 V8 Supercar race was taking place. Our friends Caroline and James gave us some free tickets and we decided to go check it out. The V8's are an Australian racing series which uses production cars that have been modified for racing and tends to be a more family oriented series of events. TV was especially keen as he attended the V8's earlier in the year for work and he wanted to compare the two venues and facilities. Plus he was happy to take the cameras along and take photographs of the action, you can check them out on his website.We met up with our friend Keith who is a keen photographer and with whom TV photographed both this and the previous V8 race.

All three of us had a good time with SV wearing ear protection at first but then she got irritated with it and took her ear plugs out. At least we tried. Here are some of the photographs before the race as we wandered through the concessions area and had a little picnic lunch. With these events the pit crews and vehicles are actually quite accessible, and we took advantage by taking photographs with one of the race cars, although SV was a bit upset because it wasn't her favourite team.

Mikulas

On the morning of the 6th December we celebrated a traditional Hungarian/Slovak holiday of Mikulas. We had all of our shoes under the window over night so that Mikulas (St Nicholas) can come and have a place to put some treats. The photographs below are from SV's first Mikulas (technically second but she won't remember much from the first one) and we captured her expression at finding some fun things in her boot.
