The second day we visited Vivid was also a weekday but there were even more people in the Darling Harbour area. Luckily we started early and beat some of the crowds including to the pretty interesting kids toy. SV seemed to enjoy the festival atmosphere and really wanted to wear her raincoat even though there was only a threat of rain. She was very interested in the light up trees which she examined in quite a bit of detail. We stayed for the fireworks and laser show as well, but SV was a bit scared of the loud noise at first. When she saw the lit up fountains dance she felt more comfortable. Then once she saw the projected ballerina dance to Swan Lake, she was truly captivated. After the show we reluctantly went home and SV told everyone, including our taxi driver, about the show well into the next day.

Vivid Festival 2014 Day 1
Vivid Festival is a winter event put on by the City of Sydney and now in it's 7th (or so) year. The festival has a number of light based installations and projections of art on famous buildings around the city. This year the festival is bigger than ever so we decided to take a multi-day approach to seeing it. Every year there are more and more people viewing the lights which means that the weekends are very busy indeed and with that in mind we went midweek. It was still busy but we managed to see things around Circular Quay and The Rocks without too much hassle.
SV was taking advantage of an excuse to stay up late and see all the fun lights. Her favourite two installations by far were the giant inflatable bunnies and the talking cars which had all sorts of lights in the windows. She had a great time and was a bit reluctant to go home, especially after the big musical dance floor.

Running around town
In general when SV gets to go outside she is quite happy. This time we went into the city and she had a great time exploring the World Square area. She found all sorts of things to do, but her favourite was to splash through the puddles.

On the swing
We all went to the park for a bit of a picnic which SV is becoming quite a big fan . She got to play for a while before we had lunch. Here she is enjoying the swings and bouncy fish. Interestingly she is slowly figuring out how to swing herself now.

First dental exam
SV had her first dental exam and it was very successful. The dentist was going to make a balloon animal out of glove, but she was much more interested in putting it on, so he gave her a mask as well. After she put all the gear on she said "now I'm a real doctor". Hilarious.

Sassy pants
SV has always had a personality but now it is really becoming more obvious. Here she was exasperated with us for going into her room. So she gave us some sass before asking us to go away. She was quite cute when she did it though.

First time pop-corner
SV had her first try of pop corn. At first she wasn't so sure about it, but eventually she got to appreciate it. Since she was in bed she had a bit of a rest with her multicultural friends. SV makes the funniest faces though, could be in part because she only just woke up before she ran into our room and climbed into our bed to try pop corn.
