After 13 years of coming to Slovakia and wanting to visit Dobšinská ľadová jaskyňa, we finally did it. It was cool both literally (-3 to -6) and figuratively. It was interesting to see and learn about how the cave formed. It is quite unique with only a handful in the world. This is one of the biggest, although the tour itself is only about 30 minutes. Still, we all enjoyed it, more so because we were well bundled up and not freezing.

Making our way to the ice cave
Seeing this ice cave has been on KT and TV's list of things to do for quite a long time. None of the other times we visited we could manage to see it fora number of reasons. Needless to say we were very excited to finally be there. It was a lovely walk up to the cave, and luckily mostly shaded. It was a rather warm 32 degrees outside and walking in long pants would have been that much more unpleasant. Once at the cave entrance we put on our extra layers for the cave.

More fun at the chata
We had a lovely barbeque at the chata which was thanks to Teta Jarka and Ujo Lado. The most fun was watching the kids play together though. They had heaps of fun and it made it really hard for them to say good bye.

At the chata
We decided to stay an extra day in Rimavska Sobota to spend some more time with the family there. They graciously let us stay at their chata which was fantastic. The kids really enjoyed playing together, shooting bows and arrows, swinging in the rocking chair, and running down to the lake. SV learned to shoot that bow pretty quickly, and then showed KT how to shoot soon after.

Visiting the graves in Rimavska Sobota
We went to visit the graves in Rimavska Sobota so that Uncle Richie could see where they were. This is where Nagymama's husband is buried and she will also be buried in the future. Next them are Nagypapa Zoltan's parents. SV enjoyed her visit, being appropriately solemn and a little bit silly pretending to be a dog. It was quite an emotional visit though as Nagymama really seemed to appreciate that both TV and Richie were there with her. We all appreciated it as well. On the way out SV curtsied to jesus for good measure.

Seeing Cousin Misko
We went to Rimavska Sobota again to see the Drobnis and the girls' Cousin Misko. SV was really looking forward to it as the two of them had heaps of fun last time. This time again they had heaps of fun. MV also joined in and climbed all over Misko.

Visiting the graves in Zvolen
This was the first time that Uncle Richie got to visit the graves and because of this it was important to go see them despite the rain. It actually ended up being fine as the rain started to ease off and we got to see where Nagymama's parents are buried. Next to them are Nagymama's Aunt and Uncle. SV was very interested and even made sad faces for the camera. She was a bit sad but we explained that it was ok to be sad but that graves are also there to remind us of the good times we had with those that have died.
