Beyond sleeping in late

We all slept in late although that may have something to do with the fact that MV was up far too many times at night. She of course slept the best of all of us. Once we all got going there was all sort of hilarity going on. While the adults sorted out a few remaining things MV and SV posed for some photographs. They were semi formal portraits in their nice clothes.We had to take advantage and take photographs early before they got smeared with food.

Lunch and dinner

We had a chance to go to Papi's house for lunch and got to hang out at his house for a while. For dinner we all reconvened at Auntie Lanie's house.

Arriving in Sacramento

When we arrived in Sacramento everyone came over for dinner at Auntie Lanie's house. It was fun to see everyone so soon. MV didn't take too long to recognise everyone and start playing with them. Of course SV gave everyone big hugs straight away.

Leaving Santa Cruz

We had a late sleep in the morning and so we had brunch instead of breakfast. Uncle Richie took us to a Brazilian Cafe which was very nice. We all ate quite a bit since we were pretty hungry and the food was delicious. Unfortunately afterwards it was time to pack up and go. SV and MV are getting to these different car seats but they did quite well all the way up.

Dinner on Pacific Ave

Uncle Richie took us to a really good little restaurant which gave SV playdoh to keep her busy. That was certainly her favourite part, but we thought the food was good. Uncle Richie made the best choice of duck, although SV made a good choice of fresh veggies and hummus. Kind of surprised us, although it really shouldn't. Afterwards we walked down Pacific Ave to the Penny Ice Creamery. They had some interesting flavours and they were all good. Despite the cold night we all enjoyed the ice cream and brisk walk back to the car.

A Santa Cruz sunset

The last thing we did on our around the world trip was to go see the sunset into the Pacific in Los Angeles, so it was fitting that seeing the sunset in Santa Cruz was the first thing we did. Uncle Richie took us to a popular spot for the sunset. SV was interested in the rocks and waves breaking over them while MV liked the surfers.

Arriving in Santa Cruz

Once we arrived in San Francisco Babicka picked us up and we headed to Santa Cruz to visit Uncle Richie. He has been keen for us to visit him so he could show us around. First we had to change clothes because even though it was sunny it was a chilly late afternoon. SV took advantage to explore some of the places she could climb up to. MV ate some snacks in the meantime. Then she too was off to do a bit of exploring.
