Playing at home

Publisher's Note: Due to all the fun we had on our big adventure we still have quite a few photographs from that trip. However, in an effort to show SV and MV's progress we will also be doing two posts a day on select dates for the next couple of weeks. Think of it as a little present for everyone.

Since we have gotten home MV was really made some progress on both her strength and eating ability. She is now well and truly crawling and is able to sit up by herself. She is really becoming aware of how her body works. She is also gaining confidence in her eating although she is also starting to become a little critic. SV is also continuing to grow, she is becoming a little lady enjoying doing lady things like getting her nails painted. The two of them are becoming ever closer, playing together quite well. Although sometimes they do annoy each other as good siblings are want to do.

Babicka's house activities

One of the great things about travelling is being able to do all sorts of new things. Babicka's house did not disappoint. We got to do all sorts of fun activities both photographed below and others. We also got to meet Uncle Richie's new partner who was really nice. Speaking of Uncle Richie, he got a bit of a poopy nappy demonstration.

At the yard

We visited Babicka and Grandpa Brad at the yard. SV got to ride in a bunch of fun things while MV slept. SV really enjoyed riding in the transfer truck and seeing how it dumps all of the materials. She also had a bunch of fun cleaning the yard with the front loader and doing a bit of maintenance as well. Then again what kid wouldn't?! After the yard we went home and SV got to watch the fish with Grandpa Brad while MV tried new solid foods with mixed results.

Seeing Dedko Lubo

We went and saw Dedko Lubo including having a short walk to lunch. SV enjoyed seeing him again and playing games together, while MV enjoyed meeting him for the first time. After playing at his house for a while we went around the block for lunch at a local sushi place. It was a lot of fun, and the girls were quite popular.

Evening at Babicka's house

When we got to Babicka's house there were heaps of things to do and explore. From trying new shoes to watching the disco ball. After all that activity dinner and a shower were in order.

Morning at Papi's house

In the morning SV and MV both got down to business. SV got behind the desk to work on her art while MV learned to drive. SV went over to give a bit of instruction before they both went to sit with Papi.

Auntie Rebecca's baby shower and Papi's birthday dinner

Just like our first day in the US our second was full of fun. First we went to Auntie Rebecca's baby shower. At the party we ran into Uncle John and Auntie Maggie, and their kids Violet and Sal. MV and SV liked them, and Uncle John became a favourite straight away.

We went home to Papi's house briefly for a nap. Papi and SV managed to find time to watch Papi's favourite music video at the moment, The Neon Trees' Everybody Talks. Soon after we headed to Grandma CeCe's house for dinner. It was nice to get together to celebrate Papi's birthday. The dinner was great and it was topped off with Papi's favourite, chocolate cake.
