"Lasers" and bath bombs

Sounds dangerous, but actually it was nothing of the sort. Auntie Jeanna helped the girls make soap and glitter bombs for their baths while Uncle Richie read the instructions. They had some great results at the end. Meanwhile EV was playing with the light gun from a Halloween costume and was fascinated by the spinning colours.

MV's Swim lesson

MV has been going to swim lessons again and has been doing great. Scott has been a great instructor and has really helped her out heaps. Some of you may recognise Scott from a few years ago when he used to be at a different swim school instructing SV. MV is really enjoying the swimming and she can now swim confidently. She has now shifted focus to being able to do a freestyle stroke and the back stroke.

Halloween 2019, now Uncle Richie and Auntie Jeanna

After a while we came back and Uncle Richie and Auntie Jeanna took the kids out while TV and EV handed out lollies. EV seemed to enjoy this bit heaps more than the actual trick or treating, much like her sisters before her. The adults also got to get involved as in our neighbourhood some people are quite enthusiastic and have adult beverages on offer. We certainly couldn't refuse a nice cold beer on a warm sunny afternoon as we watched the kids trick or treating and eating sugar. Overall, another successful Halloween.

Halloween 2019

Uncle Richie and Auntie Jeanna are here to help us celebrate Halloween this year. Auntie Jeanna did a great job on the makeup for our kids this year as unfortunately KT had to work. We continued our tradition of the Postles coming over and tirck or treating with us. Uncle Matt again smashed the makeup this year with a fantastic zombie scientist. He also made the paper machet skull mask which was even more impressive in person. Setsuna also enjoyed the day since it was her birthday and SV very kindly remembered to give her a little present to unwrap. We met up with quite a few of our friends along the way this year which made it even more fun.

More from SV's 8th party

The scientist and EV both continued to entertain the crowd. The scientist admittedly had a fancy trick up her sleeve, the mentos in a coke bottle trick. Making their own slime and snow was also pretty popular. The cake proved to be a draw as well with everyone gathering to sing happy birthday. Then the kids all broke up into small groups to enjoye their ice cream. When it was all said and done we had a fairly easy job of cleaning up and the girls had heaps of fun playing with the left over ice.

SV and Jake's 8th birthday party

SV and Jake had a combined birthday party which had a science theme. They pitched in along with MV to help set up for the party. When the kids started arrving though, they started playing with their guests. We had a scientist come and show off some fun experiments. She proved to be very popular with hits such as giant bubbles and thunder in a can. EV wasn't terribly interested as yet, but she had no shortage of fans always vying to play with her. In fact she was just as popular as the scientist.

Messy portraits

EV was looking cute in her new dress and really posed for a couple of portraits. During dinner she continued to pose but in a much messier fashion. SV also wanted a portrait so TV was happy to oblige. MV made it very clear that she did not want a portrait.
