TV and SV went to the pool to see the newly revamped kids pool. It turned out to be nice and airy. The only mistake was that they went on a Saturday morning and it was absolutely packed. They managed to have a good time anyway, but they couldn't swim like they wanted to.

Reading by a sliver of light
SV is such a happy reader that she will find the smallest bit of light to read her books by. In the photograph below she only just woke up and already gathered her books around her, even before we could draw the curtains back.

Real skiing
In the afternoon of the second day at the snow SV wanted to ski some more, making sure to ski all the way down the run. Having learned from the previous day's exertion, TV decided that it was time to get a lift ticket. SV was thrilled at not only being able to ski all the way from the top to the bottom, but she also had fun watching the people from above on the chair lift. Towards the end of her second hour of skiing SV no longer wanted to hold TV's hand, and wanted to go down all by herself. She did it a number of times without falling, and on a couple of occasions she even managed to make single turns. She was really working on shifting her weight around and observing what that did to her skis. SV continued to learn while having fun, and TV couldn't help but beam with pride and joy.
It was also no surprising that she had a very good nap in the car on the way home to Sydney. Even after waking up she was more than happy to sit in the seat and read books.

Last day of snow
On the last day at the snow we did some more sledging in the morning. KT and SV also built a snowman together. It seemed that it would be the last of day of the season not only for us, but also for the resort as the snow was melting rather quickly.

Runs in the family
Compare the two photographs below and you'll see the family resemblance. If there was ever any doubt that SV was ours, it can safely be put to rest.

Australian Father's Day 2-14
We booked this trip to the snow originally without realising that it was Father's Day. What a gift for TV though to be able to teach SV to ski on Father's Day. It was good fun. SV and KT both made it a special day for TV. SV was even so kind as to open his gift for him.

First time skier
SV finally got to go skiing in the afternoon. She was really excited about it. It was really fun to watch and teach her as she had a great time. She really learned quickly, by the end of the first hour she was able to balance and shift her weight around on the skis. She could even go a short distance without help. We were all very proud, but of course TV was ecstatic to be able to teach SV to ski, and on Father's Day no less.
It was a really good surprise because we weren't actually sure SV would like it at all and so we didn't even get a lift ticket. That made for a bit of a tiring day for KT and TV as they had to trudge up the hill. A very successful day nonetheless.
