In the morning we had a quick breaky and headed to the local park. The girls really enjoyed it because it was more natural with all of the structures made of wood. It had heaps of trees and was such a pleasant place to be. They played some really creative games including making up a play on the spot.

Catching up with Auntie Julika
Once we dropped off our stuff at the accommodation we headed out to catch up with Auntie Julika. We walked through a long green park which had several playgrounds all the way to the lake. It gave us a good idea of Hamburg which is a very walkable and bikeable city. It was really fun to see Julika and have a great German pub dinner. We then walked back and got to see a rainbow crossing which the girls enjoyed.

Heading to Hamburg
We were excited to fly to Hamburg and a little sad to be leaving Paris. We few out of Charles De Gaul but from one of the small terminals and it was really relaxing. Not really busy at all and despite not having a lounge we found seats and managed to relax. It was a short flight anyway so none of us were stressed.

Dinner in Paris
We found a little restaurant on our final night in Paris on this trip. It ended up being the perfect end to our stay as we were all very relaxed and got what we wanted for dinner. Sitting and watching people walk by in the neighbourhood as we sipped our beverages was such a lovely way to watch the sun begin to set. It really was that quintessential Parisian experience which one remembers for a long time.

Seeing Uncle Justin
We hoped on the metro and another metro to go see Uncle Justin and his family. They lived on the other side of Paris so it was a little bit of a journey abut we got to see a few things as the metro went above ground for part of it. Once there we walked through his neighbourhood and had lunch at their house. Auntie Sophie had a great idea to go to a park close by since the sun was out and it was so pleasant. The kids ran around in the grass while the adults picnicked. It was such a pleasant way to spend the afternoon and chat.

Jardin des Tuileries
After leaving the Louvre we walked through the Jardin des Tuileries on the way back to the metro. It was a pleasant walk and there were so many people out enjoying the park. One thing that is so great about Paris is the number of parks that are always in use, and even better having chairs set out around fountains for people to enjoy the little pools of water. MV really loved it and looked the part sitting there.

Finishing up at the Louvre
As was the case with the British Museum, the Louvre is just too big to see in a day so we got our fill and made our way out. We admired more of the fantastic paintings before we headed down to look at some of the Polynesian exhibits. There were some interesting statues including a Moai.
