It's that time of year again to decorate the house for Xmas. We mostly focused on the inside of the house, but we also put up some decorations on the outside. Outside was a bit more difficult on account of having to get up to the roof which we couldn't quite manage. We put on a fire and xmas music on the tele and got to work. It actually went very quickly with everyone getting involved and helping out. It was quite fun too.
This year Mikulas stopped by again and we all got some chockies. The girls got some wooden spoons as reminders to be well behaved. I had a bit of a tough morning so it was a timely reminder. EV was really happy to get all of the treats and that translated to her good attitude all the way to school. She was also really excited to wear her Xmas clothes to school, she really enjoys doing that any time of the year.
We all got home and sat down to watch a movie to wind down. MV and SV also started their advent calendars while EV did her own which was actually a short book one we got last year. In fact both advent calendars had books and activities this year. We figured that was a better choice since the girls haven't even finished their Halloween lollies.
The girls were really relaxed and had a good time chatting with Santa. So when it came to the photographs they all did really well. Of course they also loved the rabbit props which were the icing on the cake.
Before we went and got the Santa pictures done this year we had a few errands to run. The girls had to go and get their eyes checked and get a few more gifts. Eventually we went to took some photographs in the cut outs before the girls went and spoke to Santa. There was no queue so they really got to spend a fair amount of time speaking to him.
This time in purple MV had a harder dance to perform. The girls did really well and MV was great. In the middle she lost focus a touch but then regained her focus and did great. She moved very well, her movements smooth and lithe. She had fun and was very energised by the show. SV was also quite inspired by the play that was put on, so much so that she is keen to join next year.
MV wore her maroon dress for her first dance number. She was a little nervous at first but then warmed up and danced really well. She was definitely focused and followed the moves by looking at others but also at times through memory. When she remembered the moves she moved very smoothly and confidently.
