Matt and Nadia
While in LA we met up with our friends Nadia and Matt for brunch which turned into lunch. We haven't seen Auntie Nadia in a very long time and Uncle Matt for at least 3.5 years. SV didn't remember them but she did war, up after a little while. MV was happy and comfortable with both of them straight away. We had a great catch up and we're hopping it won't be another 3.5 years before we see them again.

Last day in Sacramento
This was our last day in Sacramento so our little intrepid travelers got ready to head out. We only had a short flight to LAX for a few days before heading home. To get some of the energy out we took SV to the park so she could run around a bit before going on the plane. We came home before lunch and almost everyone came over for a farewell lunch. It was good to see everyone again but of course sad at the same time.
Happy New Year 2016!
Happy New Year to all of you. We hope that 2016 is a year full of prosperity, good fortune and opportunity for all.

Dinner at Lanie and William's house
MV had a late nap which meant that SV and Babicka had to entertain themselves. Afterwards we headed over to Lanie and William's house for dinner. Most of the usual family were there for a nice Chinese dinner. Lots of fun stories were told and we all enjoyed the company. SV did take herself away to have some alone time and read a book. She does that at home as well sometimes just to have some private time.

Seeing the Oak Ridge crew
We went over to Jeremy and Madeline's house to catch up with all of the Oak Ridge crew. John, Maggie and Mike all met up there along with all of their kids. Uncle Richie also showed up fashionably late. SV and MV had heaps of fun playing with all of the other kids and the, dare we say it, 'adults'. As usual it was a good catch up because it fell back into conversations as if we saw each other only a few days ago rather than 3.5 years ago!

Visiting Auntie Beverly and her family
We had a chance to visit our friend Auntie Beverly and her family. It is very convenient because she lives just down the road from Grandma CeCe. We owe Auntie Beverly a big thank you for letting us borrow the car seat that MV used on this part of the trip. Since we last saw Beverly she and her husband had a lovely daughter who is just between SV and MV in age. SV enjoyed playing with her a little bit, especially once we got to the playground. Both SV and MV felt very comfortable straight away and had fun.

Lunch with Papi and making a friend
We met Papi at one of the neighbourhood places for lunch. The food was great and it was nice to have more time with Papi. After lunch we went back to Papi's house and SV met up with her new friend Natalie from across the street. They had an impromptu tea party on the lawn. Natalie tried to tame SV's hair as well but it proved to be a bit too wild.

Fun at Grandama CeCe's house
Staying at Grandma CeCe's house has been lots of fun. MV enjoyed learning to eat and worked on her crawling. SV on the other hand was certainly taking advantage of all of the art supplies to create lots of work. She has been very busy drawing and painting all sorts of stuff including the solar system. Grandama CeCe's new kitchen is also proving to be very popular place since that's where we spent most of our time there.
