Oravský Hrad is a castle which is really impressive. It is built in such a way as to be almost impenetrable which makes it very impressive. It has been preserved very well and has an excellent tour which we went on. This castle also has a bit of history for us. When we first toured through Slovakia we visited and since the front door was open we just kept walking like any good Slovak. We made it all the way into the castle before someone turned us around.
On this occasion we did it right and got to see pretty much the entire thing. Even though SV was a bit grumpy to start she quickly got excited to see the castle and historic items like the swords. KT on the other hand got excited by the maternity gown she found. The original clock mechanics were pretty cool to see, but the view was perhaps even better. We even got to see the stuffed animal museum which was interesting for it's local wildlife.
