PB Sponsored events
Hi everybody,
So as most of you know we will be back in the US for a short holiday in May.
Now, here is what we have been up to lately. First, there was the Corporate games where various corporations assembled teams of staff members in various sports from baseball, soccer, golf, to more interesting ones like sailing and karting. Teams competed in each event to represent their companies and win the coveted trophies. TV and his teammate Jarryd took part in the Karting and made it to the semi-finals before being eliminated. Our company sponsored the event and provided us with snazy shirts with PB colours. There are a few photos of us relaxing before the driving and then us racing around.
A few weeks later Jarryd, KT, and TV took part in the Corporate Triathlon. This race was again sponsored by PB and involved a bunch of companies from various fields. There were over 4500 participants in this super sprint event of 400m swim, 8km bike ride and 4km run. It was a great day and venue for racing as can be seen from the first photos. Technically this event was for employees of the companies that signed up, but some wanted to win so bad that they hired people to compete. Well, we had a ringer of our own, KT who found out two days before the race that she was competing because TV's two other team mates dropped out. PB did manage to field a team of 30 people though.
We got there nice and early so that we could get set up as the organisers were very strict on the rules about when people could get in and out of the transition area. With so many people there were waves of 50 cometitors starting every 5 minutes and it meant that some people finished before we even started. Turned out to be a great event though. Unfortunately since we were all competing there was no one to take our photos during the event.
There are some photos of us walking around the course and getting ready. Then the PB group photos some of us wearing the tri tops that were supplied by PB.
For those that are interested KT got a
combined time of 39min 32sec including transitions and came in 1738 overall and TV got a 34min 22sec and came in 356th overall. Of course KT started participated in an all mens team and was one of the top five people in our wave out of the water. We all did really well including Jarryd who started and finished his first triathlon. That's it for now stay tuned for some more updates coming soon.
