Mmm mmm tasty.

Last week we went down to the Sydney Fish Markets for some fresh fish. We ended up getting some really, really nice sushi grade salmon, tuna, and kingfish. Later that night we had fun making rolls and nigiri. All we can say is, that is some tasty fish. Of course how can you have a proper sushi meal without some great beer, provided by the fine folks from Cascade Brewing Co. in Tasmania. This wasn't just any ordinary beer, it was Cascade's first harvest beer. It's only available once a year when the first hops and barley are harvested (hence the name) and then brewed still fresh and green.
It sure was a tasty meal, actually it turned into two meals. So for those of you that like sushi, we now know where to get some top notch fish.

The quiz was kind of a trick question. A dag originally meant the poo stuck on the derriere of a sheep. It has come to mean an uncool person as well. Thank you all for submitting those fine answers.

Sniffy

Some sad news to report. On Wednesday May 9th, 2008 our little brown buddy died. Sniffy would have been 14 in September, so he had a long life. Everyone that met him, well maybe not those little kids he growled at, liked him. He was a great companion and we have some very fond memories of him. He was a feisty character to the end, still giving Billy the stink eye for getting too close the night before he died. We will try to get a few more photos of his younger days and post them up, but these are from when he was an older gentleman. Feel free to post any stories you might have. Looking back on his life, it wasn't half bad, what with all the treats he ate and the places he went to. R.I.P. Sniffy, you will be missed.

Interesting Happenings

Last week TV had an interview, so dressing quite dapper with his leather attache and suit, he was off.

A few days later we hear back that the interview went quite well and a job was on offer. The job is as a Transport Planner with Parssons Brinckerhoff, or PB as they like to be known. They are a consulting firm and are quite busy doing all sorts of infrastructure projects all over NSW, and the world.
Here is their website: http://www.pb.com.au/ if anyone is curious. The job starts on May 1st in a part time capacity and will go to full time after graduation. The office is on the 27th floor in the Sydney CBD (downtown) with a great view of the city. We can actually see our house from there. No joke. Meanwhile school is going well for both of us. TV just found out that he made the dean's list for his first semester, while KT has performed several births all on her own, along with learning tons about all aspects of birthing. See you all soon.

Answer to the last poll: When someone says to you they need to "see a man about a dog", it means they must go to the bathroom.

Flugtag Video

Enjoy the small bit of goofyness that is the Flugtag.

Matteo's Visit

So our good friend Mateo (Matt) came for a brief visit before exploring other parts of Australia. We had a good time catching up, and drinking beer. Mateo got to see all of the iconic Sydney sights, but we all went to see the first Australian Flugtag. Rather than posting more photos of the Opera House here are some from the Fulgtag instead. Okay, so you can't go to Sydney and not have any Opera House or Harbour Bridge photos. There were tons of people having a good time despite the early showers. We too had a good time watching getting wet and silly. Of course we also had a friendly meet and greet at the Landsdowne so Mateo could meet the Aussie posse. As always a good time had by all.
