When going for a walk it is important to stay hydrated. So in this photo KT is drinking plenty of water as she takes SV for her first walk.

Sasha photo a day
So starting today we will try to publish a photo of Sasha or one of us each day. That way there is always something new to look at, with one big photo and a little explanation if possible. We will try to get recent photos so that they show her progression as she gets older.
Today's photo, ok we're cheating a little bit, today's two photos are a little bit older. The first is when Sasha was still being treated for her jaundice and she was sleeping on her glow mat.
The second is just after she stopped her treatment and she was letting her legs get a good stretch in while KT was holding her.

Sasha's first walk
Here is a video of us using Sasha's new Japan Pram, that's our name for the pram TV bought when he was in Japan because it's super light and small, and going for her first walk ever. We had a bit of a hard time trying to get organised, but once we were all set up it was a great little walk. This is from her first week being home.

The coming of Squiggle
Here is a quick time lapse video of the progression of the growth of Squiggle in KT's tummy. We shot some of the photos while we were on our trips to serve as a reminder of the travel Squiggle has done. We had to sacrifice some of the consistency, but we felt it added to the overall process.
The video goes through week 38 at which point KT went into labour. In fact that last photo was taken while KT was in the initial stages of labour, just before Sasha was born. Enjoy!

Introducing Sasha Elaine Vaclavek
This is our baby girl. Many of you may have seen some photos on Facebook or elsewhere, but here are some additional photographs taken by KT and TV. Here is also a short video of her when she had the hiccups. She gets them pretty frequently but we thought they were quite cute. Watch out for that sneaky arm too.
Here are some of the photographs:
When Sasha came out, she bruised her face which has led to her having some jaundice. This meant that she had to have some blue light therapy to help absorb the bilirubin from her skin which is a by-product of the break down of bruises.
Hope you all liked the photos and video. Stay tuned for more photos and videos soon.

TV's leg update
So TV had his temporary cast removed and to our surprise was given a removable boot instead. The doctor said the leg was healing ok and should be ok to walk on next week. The boot is great because it is removable for showers. So four and a half weeks from now TV has another appointment to see the progress of the leg and most likely stop needing to wear the boot.
Here are a few photos of the foot and leg after getting the cast taken off.

Fibula Catastrophy and a Soothing Visit from Grandma
During a quiet Sunday morning jog last week, Thomas was confronted by a middle-aged woman riding a mountain bike with training wheels on the footpath. He decided it was in his best interest to give this woman a wide berth as she was looking rather unsteady. This proved to be a fatal error, however, as he promptly stepped into a hole and twisted his ankle. He crumpled to the ground immediately, but sent all the bystanders away, insisting he was alright. He then hopped 300 meters to the tennis courts were he hoped to find someone with a mobile to call Katie to bring the bicycle to push him home. Someone took pity on him and his ankle's increasing girth and gave him a ride home. Katie took one look at that ankle and insisted on taking him to the Emergency Room at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Their very good friend, Rachel Naylor from Merry Old England, obliged them in driving.
An x-ray confirmed a straight-across fracture in the distal fibula of his left leg. He was very lucky in that the fracture probably won't need pins as it was a very clean break and was not dislocated. Two and a half hours later, Thomas was hobbling home on the bus with his new crutches and a half caste to allow for the swelling.
He went to work the Monday, but found it an incredibly difficult and sweaty situation so he worked from home the rest of the week. Luckily, Grandma arrived the following Saturday to save the day.
Things are looking up now for Katie and Thomas as Grandma has come to spread some cheer, cook a few meals and enjoy a modified tour of Sydney with a whole lot more rest stops.
