Fiji with Jody

Last week we went back to Fiji, but this time with our friend Jody. We went to a very nice island that had several small villages of native Fijians and the one resort that we stayed in. We had a really wonderful time as can be seen from our photos. There were heaps of things to do, but we managed to relax on the beach at least a little bit. One day we took an excursion to see the local kindergarten with some of the other guests, and it was a really good experience. The kids were wonderful. We also enjoyed several bowls of Kava, the local drink of choice, along with the accompanying ceremony. Kt and Jody took part in some weaving classes as well which they enjoyed. When there were waves we managed to have a good time and frolic in them and consequently getting a little burned. Overall a very enjoyable holiday, with a small hicup or two. Next time we will post the underwater photos.

Melbourne with Rich

So this post is a bit late, but at least it's up now. This is when Richo was visiting and just after we came back from Antarctica. The first photos are all right after we landed on New Years Day, after being in the air for 14+ hours with maybe 1 hour of sleep. Good fun in the gardens and then Melbourne Museum. Found some Antarctic exploration gear and an Xray that Rich identified with. Actually there was a really good medical exhibit on that we all enjoyed. Then on to the dinosaurs. Then at our hotel we found an interesting photo of some random kid in the lift. The next morning some of us had a hard time getting up, but when Lord of the Fries was mentioned everyone became excited, especially about the Obama sauce. Mmmm, tasty presidential sauce. We also went to Nobu and the Crown Casino for some sushi and entertainment. The next day we found the only Costco in Australia and had a blast shopping even though we had no room in our bags. We made sure to only get the essentials: wasabi peas, bourbon, pita chips, and of course the hot dog and ice cream at the food court.
Next time the final leg of our trip, the Great Ocean Road.
