We had a fairly relaxed and hot Christmas Eve this year. We ordered Japanese, but our usual go to place was closed so it ended up taking a bit longer to get. We ended up opening a few presents before dinner. We then had our dinner which of course included Xmas crackers with their corny jokes. We then opened a few more gifts as we waited for it to get dark.

Babicka's birthday dinner
We took Babicka out for dinner to celebrate her birthday. What better place to go then dumplings? We had a tasty dinner and gave her one of her presents. Shark house slippers! It was a fun evening and the food was delicious.

Babicka and Brad arrive
We got to go pick up Babicka and Brad from the airport before heading out. We wanted to keep them awake so they adjusted to the new time zone quickly. So we all walked up to pick up EV from her school before going to the park for a play. We picked up dinner on the way home as well to make it a nice and easy evening.

EV's last swim lesson with Scott
EV had her last lesson with Scott who has taught all three girls the basics of swimming. It is thanks to him that they all love the water and swimming as much as they do. He taught them not to be afraid and how to do the basics. He is moving on to train as a butcher and is cutting back his classes. EV will have a little break from swimming and will do something else instead. She really enjoyed her lessons and improved heaps. You can certainly see her joy in the photographs.

Baking ladies
Several of the ladies have been doing a bit of holiday baking. This time they are making peanut butter and chocolate protein balls for one of our friends. It was a real collaborative effort and the result was really tasty. So much so that we ended up saving some back for ourselves.

Walking to school one last time this year
The girls were excited at the prospect of the last day. They enjoy school, especially the social aspects, but it has been a long and busy year. Still it was an exciting day with all of the emotions and expectations.

MV's Commitment to Learning & Excellent Improvement in All Learning Areas
MV's teacher Mrs Moore was so happy to give her this award. They got along very well and MV really flourished through the year. We were really proud of her for her hard work and how much she learned throughout the year. It was really her first school year that wasn't significantly disrupted by Covid so it was great to see how well she did and for her to get the recognition was the bonus..

SV gets selected for Library Leader
SV was really chuffed to be selected as Library Leader for next year. She got to receive her pin at the end of year assembly. She's not fully sure what the position entails but she is happy to be a student leader in her last year at LPS. What makes it even better is that two of her good friends are leaders as well, so they will have a good time together.

Continuing various Xmas projects
The older two girls continued working together to finish off all the cards for their classmates. In the meantime EV helped with rolling out dough to make dinner and later cookies. They all managed to work next to each other and were all very helpful in finishing things off.
