TV signed up for the first mountain bike cross country race for the year as preparation for the BC Bike Race. It was really fun as Babicka and the girls came along for support. TV ended up coming in second place for his category, and the girls were all winners.
We found a couple of nice spots along the river where we stopped and relaxed for a little while. Watching the animals and generally enjoyed nature. It was really nice and somewhat reminiscent of a Sydney winter day of sunshine along the Parramatta River or Georges River.
TV took the girls and their friend for a walk along the river because it was such a lovely winter day. There were a fair few people but we found some trails that weren't too busy so the girls could just run and be loud. We saw a few animals but mostly just explored.
We went to Lake Tahoe again for a bit of a holiday and one of the activities the girls wanted to do was to go to the casino arcade. We meant to go for a short time but the girls were having a really good time. They were playing the some of the claw machines and were winning everything. It was really quite incredible. They of course had a great time and were excited on the way home.
We had a more adventures in January including catching up with Uncle Mark. MV again had some troubles with chairs and we had some lovely family dinners including at our local sushi place.
EV and MV had their school jog-a-thon which is a fundraising event for their school where they run around the school track to raise money. This year it was post-poned because of rain but then it ended up raining on the day anyway. The kids generally didn't seem to mind though and they had a really fun time. EV ran with her friend Kylie and MV mostly ran by herself. They both did well and were satisfied with the event. Having popsicles at the end certainly helped.
EV got invited to a birthday party of one of her classmates. It was at an indoor play centre which suited EV just fine. She had fun despite only knowing the birthday boy.
