Pool party

 We had a couple of friends over to Grandma Cece's and Ron's pool. The adults got a chance to talk and swim a bit while the kids entertained themselves. The kids enjoyed a snack and a whole lot of swimming. They really had a lot of fun together.

More Pride

 The crowd and the parade particiants were very jovial and it made the event really nice. The girls got into it and got a fair bit of attention. We also got to see a couple of people we knew march in the parade which added to the fun. The only down side was that after the parade there wasn't any follow up activities that we could partake in and so we found a plae to have lunch instead. We ended up enjoying lunch just chatting.

 

Sac Pride

 Thie year we went to the Pride parade in Sacramento and Grandma Cece and Ron came along too. Unfortunately KT couldn't go because she was working but we had a good time. It was a smaller parade but it was well represented and everyone was having a good time. 

Last day of school

 It was hard to believe that the first American year of school was over. The girls have adapted well and all had a succesful year. They were impressive in their own way. SV managed to get through the first year of junior high while maintaining great marks and navigating new friendships. MV also had great marks as she created a new friend group and had a major part in the school play. EV had her first year of school and really took to it as she learned to read. She also learned about how to manage school situations including making friends and setting up boundaries. We couldn't be prouder of them as they thrived after so much change.

KT's birthday

 It was again that time of year when we got to celebrate KT's birthday. It was the first one back in Sac and we kept it low key. The girls really made an effort to make things for KT and to celebrate her.

Family Lego day

 After an eventful camping trip it was nice to be home again and relax. We all got some Lego out and worked on different models together while having a chat. It was low pressure and fun.

Wrapping up camping

 The kids all went swimming and paddleboarding on the lake after the ceremony to have some fun after all the formality. They had a great time paddling, jumping and swimming around. Afterwards we made dinner and another fire. The next morning we leisurely packed up after breakfast and started home. It was just in time too as a rain storm rolled in.

The ceremony

 SV's friend EJ had her coming of age ceremony and SV got to participate for part of it. The rest of us got ot watch the cermenoy and participated in the interactive parts.
